travelling man
Travelling Man was the first song I ever committed to paper and the first song I recorded. I wanted to write something with an Irish sound and in the Irish tradition. I worked on the words for a while, changing the flavour of the song completely in the course of it, but the tune stayed the same from the first time it came to me. I was told by an experienced Irish musician that the Irish have enough songs and music to last them forever and this was yet another song to add to the endless supply that already exists. My reply to him was "Yeah, but I wrote and sang this from the heart."
