moonshine baby

This song was originally written and performed by me acoustically as a blues song.  When it came to recording the producer suggested a more R’n’B sound and this is how it came out.  Personally I love the sound of the saxes.  Liza Simpson of the Simpsons was on to something.

I always thought it odd that the soldiers who came back from World War I couldn’t go out and have a beer after fighting for their countries.  The 1920s when prohibition was in force must have been full on.  Al Capone ran the show in those days.  Although everyone thinks of moonshine as being associated with country stills, I read something recently that there were as many illegal stills in New York City as there were in the country.
